"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
- Ancient Chinese Proverb
At V3 Tucson the development of key
life skills is fundamental to establishing a firm foundation in recovery. Each member of the community, staff and residents, support one another as they role model a standard of excellence often lost with the onset of teen addiction and/or addictive behaviors. The V3 Tucson curriculum encompasses a wide range of life skills designed to impact personal development and the realization of one's full potential.
Our drug rehab program of action teaches comprehension and problem solving, relapse prevention, work ethic, discipline,
etiquette, social skills, and many other core values that are absent or lacking as the direct result of addictive behaviors and lifestyle choices. Social graces - good manners, decorum and courteousness - are values that have been lost in translation. The V3 Tucson teen program of study strongly supports and upholds these basic values while serving to awaken the tremendous potential that rests within every young adult in our care. Many post-secondary educational institutions are now offering courses in etiquette in order to prepare their students for social interactions and societal expectations post-graduation. These building blocks are absolutely necessary in providing the framework for sustained long-term sobriety, and are integral to the V3 Tucson
educational paradigm and core curriculum.
The V3 Tucson program is comprised of three main disciplines that are incorporated into every facet of the residential program -
Focus, Purpose and Recovery. These disciplines are fundamental to establishing a firm foundation in the pursuit of a productive, effective and contented life. Within these disciplines are three stages of instruction -
Orientation, Leadership and Action. Each stage of
teen drug rehab program is specifically designed to provide the necessary skills and fundamental building blocks required to achieve a successful transformation.

Family Workshop Series - Family Workshops are offered to the primary caregivers of the V3 Tucson resident. This is a very effective form of adolescent addiction treatment. There are three workshops per residency - generally scheduled at three/four month intervals. Family weekends are specifically designed to inform and support those committed to the recovery process of their loved one. The cost to participate is $2,500.00 US per workshop (includes two primary caregivers). Other participants (18+) may qualify. Please review suitability at time of admission.
Neurofeedback Training™ - this leading edge technology is available to V3 Tucson residents as an adjunct to the core curriculum.
Neurotherapy/Biofeedback is a non-invasive therapy that is highly effective in treating drug addiction and alcoholism, ADD/ADHD, OCD, Learning Disabilities, Oppositional Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, Eating Disorders, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Depression/Anxiety. An initial brain map and 20 sessions are available to the resident at no additional charge.
"After working for almost three decades as a medical professional and clinical researcher in some of America's most prestigious medical centers, I began a search for ways to remediate attention and learning problems and enhance human performance without drugs. My research led me to be able to create and develop sophisticated training technologies that literally teach any brain to perform at higher levels of efficiency. I call the completed process,
NeuroMatrix Neurofeedback Training™." - Dr. Sams
Physical activity is an important part of the V3 Tucson program. Adventure Therapy combines physical activity with therapeutic learning – specializing in experiential therapies including adventure-based activities and use of low-element and portable challenge courses and indoor climbing walls. The proximity of the facility to the expansive mountains surrounding the city of Tucson also provides the opportunity for residents to participate in rock climbing, nature trails and camping. Residency includes weekly Tai Chi instruction and a membership to Gold’s Gym where residents attend four times per week and enjoy swimming, work outs, and a variety of other services offered at the facility. Tennis instruction is also included in the weekly schedule and is facilitated by world renowned tennis pro at the Tucson Tennis and Racquet Club.
Spiritual needs are met through 12-Step Programs, local churches, and Synagogues. We connect with the Universe in many different ways - Tai Chi, along with prayer and meditation are integrated into the curriculum to give focus, strength and to broaden horizons.
The City of Tucson boasts a broad range of
cultural and historic programs that are designed to educate, entertain and inspire. As an important piece of the V3 Tucson curriculum, exposure to the opera, cultural diversity, live theater, local/cultural performances, motivational seminars, and self-discovery retreats are also provided to enhance the overall
personal development of each resident.
Substance abuse treatment and an on-going exploration and treatment of dual-diagnosis conditions combined with coaching in the areas of the life skills, physical experiential learning, participation in community service and exposure to cultural diversity all contribute to the success of the V3 Tucson program.
